Chapter 63
The hallway erupted into chaos as the crowd grew restless.
Just as Brynn was about to speak up and explain-
A flood of reporters suddenly burst out of the elevator, cameras and microphones in hand.
Before she could react, flashing lights blinded her, and the reporters‘ overlapping voices bombarded her ears, making them ring.
Then, at that moment, a figure stepped in front of her, shielding her from the blinding flashes.
Brynn looked up, startled.
It was Chase.
“You…”
“Brynn, just admit it–you can’t live without me.”
Seriously?
She had been about to thank him, but his words completely killed the mood.
“Do
you want my help?” Chase asked, a confident smirk playing on his lips.
“What’s the catch?”
Brynn remained expressionless. She knew Chase too well–there was no way he’d help her wit. at a price.
As expected, seeing that she had taken the bait, Chase wasted no time revealing his true intentions. “Simple. Divorce that useless husband of yours.”
Again, Brynn was left speechless by his words.
“No wonder you’re at the hospital,” Brynn sneered. “Clearly, there’s something wrong with your brain.”
Chase, unfazed by her jab, merely chuckled. He had grown used to Brynn’s sharp tongue over the past few days.
“The choice is yours. You can refuse me,” he said leisurely, then leaned in slightly, lowering his voice.
“But we did date for quite a while, didn’t we? I know exactly whether you have a medical license or not.”
“You-!”
Brynn’s eyes widened, and she instinctively clenched her fists.
Seeing her reaction, Chase’s smirk only deepened.
“You have no choice. If you refuse my help and public opinion turns against you, I can’t guarantee you’ll be able to protect yourself.”
Brynn heard the threat loud and clear.
“Shameless.”
Brynn glared coldly at Chase, frustration burning in her chest.

Chapter 63
There was no way she’d agree to his demands!
But right now…
She didn’t care about being insulted herself, but if this dragged the hospital down with her, if Brenda got caught in the crossfire…
Maybe she should just reveal her true identity?
No. If she exposed who she really was, what would happen to her master?
Just as she hesitated, her phone suddenly rang.
She glanced at the screen.
Dominic.
“Hello?”
Brynn answered, pressing a hand over her phone to muffle the noise around her.
“I saw the posts online. Are you okay, Brynn?”
Hearing the concern in Dominic’s voice, she felt an unexpected sense of reassurance. “Don’t worry. I’m fine.”
Fine? Not even close.
Dominic sighed softly as he scanned the reports his men had sent.
His Brynn… She was strong, capable, and far too considerate. Even when she was wronged, sh to her worry.
“As long as you’re okay.” He didn’t push her. “What’s going on now?”
Brynn steadied herself and gave Dominic a rundown of the situation–except for one thing.
She left out the fact that Paul and Brenda were her biological parents.
She wasn’t ready to face that yet, let alone tell Dominic and make him worry even more.
“… That Dr. Creed is completely unethical,” she grumbled in the end.
“I’ll handle it.”
Dominic’s eyes darkened.
