“Are you really the Divine Doctor’s apprentice?” Gary asked, half–skeptical.

Hearing this, Kylie was initially startled, but then a surge of joy filled her chest.
What luck!
After searching high and low for any trace of the Divine Doctor, she had randomly called out to someone who turned out to be connected to them.
… Yes, I am the Divine Doctor’s apprentice!”
Kylie’s eyes flickered as she immediately seized the opportunity.
She had no idea why this man had mistaken her for someone else, but there was no way she was going to let such a golden chance slip through her fingers.
Upon hearing Kylie’s confirmation, Gary’s last shred of hope died.
He never would have imagined that the Divine Doctor’s apprentice would turn out to be someone like… this.
“If you don’t stand up for me right now, I’ll tell my master all about this!”
Kylie saw him hesitating and quickly leveraged her new identity as a threat.
“When my master finds out how disrespectful you’ve been to me… ” Kylie narrowed her eyes. “You’ll definitely be in trouble!”
“You-” Gary was utterly furious. If this was really the Divine Doctor’s apprentice, then he’d rather never meet them!
But his old friend had personally reached out multiple times, emphasizing over and over again not to offend this person. As much as he wanted to call Kylie out, he could only swallow his anger for now.
Brynn, who had been watching everything, was almost impressed by Kylie’s shamelessness. She took on someone else’s identity so effortlessly.
“What are you waiting for? Hurry up and throw this bitch out!” Kylie urged impatiently.
Gary took a deep breath, forcing himself to suppress his rising frustration.
Then, with an apologetic expression, he turned to Brynn. “I’m very sorry, miss. The second floor has been reserved by me. If you’d like to dine here, you’ll have to stay on the first floor.”
Saying this, he suddenly felt ashamed. Helping Kylie bully another young girl like this–his old face was practically burning with embarrassment.
“To make it up to you, why don’t you leave me your contact information? I’ll compensate you financially,” Gary offered.
That, however, made Kylie explode. “Hey! Why are you giving her money?”
Gary frowned, his patience wearing thin.
“No need.”
Before he could snap, Brynn’s lighthearted voice cut in, halting the outburst before it could happen.

“Sir, I appreciate your kindness, but there’s no need for compensation.” She smiled politely. “It doesn’t matter where I eat- I’ll just stay on the first floor.”
Her words made Gary feel much better.
At the same time, he couldn’t help but think, If only she were the Divine Doctor’s apprentice instead!
What a well–mannered young lady.
“I truly apologize for this,” Gary said again.
“Enough, let’s go already!”
Kylie urged impatiently.
With no other choice, Gary headed upstairs.
Standing at the staircase, Brynn watched the two of them ascend, her eyes glinting thoughtfully.
She hadn’t exposed Kylie just yet because she wanted to observe Gary’s character first.
So far, he seemed decent. Even though he was forced to acknowledge Kylie’s supposed status as the Divine Doctor’s apprentice, he hadn’t taken advantage of it to bully others.
More importantly…
She was curious to see what Kylie planned to do with her stolen identity.
Why on earth was she pretending to be the Divine Doctor’s apprentice?
Had she somehow discovered Brynn’s connection to her master?
No–that couldn’t be it. If she knew, she wouldn’t be impersonating her. Which meant… she had another goal entirely.
