Chapter 15
Walter stood there, frozen, his face going through a series of expressions like an actor in a silent film. Finally, he managed to muster a smile, though it looked more like a grimace.
His lips moved a few times before any sound came out.
“Lucille, where’d you dig up this actor? He’s not very convincing Quit pulling our legs.“”
Even with the ring glinting on her finger and the marriage certificate held up for them to see, he couldn’t wrap his head around it.
Lucille hadn’t expected to run into them so soon. But truth be told, she had long since decided she wanted nothing more to do with them. “He’s not an actor Sorry to disappoint, but as you can see, I’m married,” she said, her tone casual. She waved the marriage certificate in front of Ayrton and Walter for good measure
Stephen wrapped an arm around Lucille’s waist, nodding politely at them. “Hello, I’m Stephen Grant, Lucille’s husband.”
His eyes were a striking shade of amber, and the way he looked at Ayrton and Walter, it was clear he didn’t see them as equals.
Ayrton’s eyes narrowed, a flicker of anger sparking within him. He barely contained his emotions, his voice tight as he focused on Lu “Lucille, come on, you’re just jealous, right? Be good. You don’t mean it. Just get a divorce, you’re acting on impulse.”
Lucille.
He reached out, trying to pull Lucille back toward the courthouse as Walter edged in, attempting to separate Stephen from Lucille “Mr. Grant, what gives you the right to marry Lucille? Do you even know her? Her favorite pizza topping? Her quirks? Do you love her?” Walter shouted, placing a hand on Stephen’s shoulder!
Stephen brushed off Walter’s touch with ease, seemingly unfazed. “Lucille and I will work on our relationship. A marriage–first, love–later approach isn’t so bad. But you two have your own mess to sort out. Last I heard, things with Claire weren’t exactly clear–cut. So, what ground do you stand on?“%
He dusted off his shoulder, as if Walter’s touch had left a stain. Walter’s touch had left a stain.
At the mention of Claire, Ayrton and Walter hesitated
“We… we just care about Claire, that’s all. Nothing else,” Walter quickly replied.
Lucille pulled her hand free from Ayrton’s grasp and stood by Stephen, her voice cold. “Enough, Ayrton, Walter, you don’t need to explain anything to me. From the moment I left Sea Cit, we were done.”
Her expression remained distant, as if they were strangers to her now.
“Whether you like Claire or not, it’s none of my business. Don’t come looking for me again. Axelvale City isn’t your
With that, Stephen snapped his fingers, and a line of uniformed security guards appeared.
“Escort them back to Sea Cit. Make sure they don’t get another chance to come to Axelvale City.”
He spoke on behalf of Lucille, and she didn’t contradict him, her silence speaking volumes.

Walter looked shocked, struggling against the guards, his eyes wide and desperate. “Lucille! You can’t just leave with him! Come back to Sea Git with us. We’ll make it right, just like old times, okay?‘%
