Chapter 5
My dad came to attend the ribbon–cutting ceremony today, which we had discussed last night. I don’t want to be a fool anymore. I want to expose Reed. Why should my dad do all the good things while Reed takes the credit and benefits?
Kolton quickly picked it up for him. “You must be so thrilled, hahaha, Sir Fuller must have wanted to give you a surprise!”
The classroom was buzzing. “Is it true? Sir Fuller doesn’t usually attend these kinds of events!”
“That was when Mr. Fuller didn’t come, Reed had just arrived six months ago, you see, it’s different now.”
Originally, only the principal knew about my dad’s donation of the building, but I don’t know why in the second semester of my freshman year, when Reed had just transferred, the news of my dad’s donation to the school was exposed.
So classmates jokingly called Reed “the person who arrives at the building“, and the teachers paid more attention to Reed than us small shrimps.
Now thinking back, during the first few days when Reed transferred, he did seem to intentionally or unintentionally revolve around me. In addition, he was good–looking, and Keira kept telling me that Reed treated me differently. She would say things like how lucky I was that someone so outstanding was being so kind to me. It was envy–inducing. Gradually, I started to develop feelings for him.
It seems that in my past life, I fell into their trap, ultimately leading to our entire family being used as pawns by Reed.
The surrounding classmates were still mocking and taunting me.
Someone changed their surname in order to mooch off the Fuller family, but Sir Fuller eventually exposed their true identity!
Reed’s face turned pale as he listened, while his classmates were smug and triumphant.
“Come on, let’s go together!” they said, and then they hugged Reed and walked out. Reed was stiffly surrounded by them, saying, “I… I… just saw my dad this morning, you guys go on your own!”
“Hahaha, yes, you see, I was so happy, who would want to see their own dad at school!”
After Kolton finished speaking, Reed breathed a sigh of relief.
I glanced at him lightly, thinking of avoiding him? No way! Watch me expose your true colors!
Keira’s friends, who shared the same thoughts as me, were also not pleased. “Won’t this just benefit Bella? Will she continue to mooch off the Fuller family at school in the future?”
Keira came out gently to explain, “I will talk to Bella, she will definitely not have such fantasies again in the future, so everyone can rest assured!”
In my previous life, Keira brainwashed me and told me not to expose Reed. She said that he would hate me even more if he lost his status at school. I believed her and carefully maintained his self–esteem. And what was the result? Reed, with the title of the Fuller family heir, they both gained a lot of
benefits!
Suddenly, there was a cry in my ear, and a classmate saw the necklace Keira was wearing. “Wow, Keira, are you wearing Cartier? It’s so shiny!”
Keira blushed and smiled shyly, “Reed gave it to me.”
Her friend was boiling with en
envy, Alice Venn exclaimed, “This must cost 21,000, Mr. Fuller is truly generous when it comes to spending!”
Kolton also chimed in. “That’s right, just look at Reed’s abilities!”
The crowd nodded in understanding!
“Envious to the extreme, which direction should I bow to in order to have a boyfriend like Mr. Fuller!” Rayna Huffman also refused to be outdone and praised the couple.
“You were not good enough, Mr. Fuller, not just anyone can catch his attention. Some people simply lack self–awareness! They don’t even consider their own appearance and still want to compete with our school’s beauty queen!”
Alice gave me a meaningful look after she finished speaking, saying, “Who knows in this world of uncertainties?”
Seeing him like this, I was blind!
