Amid the tension, a knock came.
Several police officers entered.
The lead officer nodded at me.
“The suspect in the robbery at mansion 15
has confessed.”
Before he finished, Dad turned. “Drop it!”
The officer was startled, so was I.
“It’s a family matter, we’re dropping the
charges.”
Dad said.

I smiled sarcastically. As expected.
Even now, he was protecting Tiffany.
“Sorry, you can’t just drop it.” The officer
frowned.
Dad became agitated. He grabbed me.
“My daughter was reckless, she bribed the
robber to act with her!”
“I’ll write a statement of understanding,
please drop it.”
He still thought I’d bribed the robber.
The officer’s expression was strange. He
hesitated, then said.
“Your daughter, Sarah, wasn’t involved in the
robbery.”
“It was your wife, Tiffany, and your
stepdaughter, Tiffany.”
Dad’s face paled. He looked at the officer
incredulously.
“You’re wrong! Tiffany and Tiffany are so
kind, how could they…”
Tiffany nervously grabbed his arm, shaking
her head and crying.
“Steven, I didn’t…believe me.”
“Sarah, did you do something…”
She sobbed.
Aunt knows you don’t like me, but you can’t
blame Aunt for your mistakes…”
Dad was about to rage, but the officer
doused him with cold water.
“We found out that the robber is Tiffany’s
ex–husband.”
“Tiffany’s biological father. He was released
six months ago, and a month ago, Tiffany and Tiffany found him.”
“They gave him five million to deal with Sarah
and Lily, promising another fifty million after Tiffany inherited the company.”
Dad was stunned. He never expected his wife,
to be a viper.
But he still tried to argue.
