Chapter 9
Right before the wedding, I was in the dressing room changing clothes.
As I leaned down to reach the zipper, someone zipped it up from behind.
I felt his fingers brush against my back.
“Kingsley…”
But when I saw his reflection in the mirror, my smile froze.
“Noah? Why are you here?”
“Liora, come with me.”
He hugged me tightly from behind, his eyes full of intensity.
I tried to break free, but his voice turned threatening.
“What if I sleep with you right here and everyone sees? Will your senior still want to marry you then?”
“Noah, how can you be so shameless?”
“Maybe I am. But you left me no choice! Without you, life means nothing
to me!!
His face twisted with emotion, and he looked a bit unstable.
I suddenly remembered what Isabel told me. After thinking I had died, he locked himself in and wouldn’t eat or drink for months.
When he came out, he looked a little mentally disturbed.
I lifted my heel and stomped hard on his leather shoe. He let go of me

with a grunt of pain.
Just as I reached for the doorknob, he yanked my hair from behind.
“Help-”
Noah shoved a towel over my mouth.
A sharp, stinging smell filled my nose, and my body began to lose strength.
He had clearly planned. His real purpose was to take me away from Miami.
When I opened my eyes, I was already on a small private plane.
I was tied to a seat, and Noah bent down beside me.
“Liora, I’m sorry for making you remember your parents. But this will be the last flight. I promise. Let’s go back to Los Angeles and start fresh. I’ll do whatever you ask,” he said, sounding desperate.
“Mr. Rockwell, there’s a plane on our tail!” his assistant shouted.
Through the cabin mirror, his assistant glanced up and met my eyes. “Get rid of him! Liora is my wife. I won’t let anyone take her from me!” Noah’s eyes narrowed with frustration, flickering with a strange light.
I looked down at the special compartment under the seat, then tried to
calm him.
“Noe, can you help untie me first?”
“It’s been so long since you called me that. Can you say it again a few more times?”
Chapter 9
I repeated his nickname softly, trying to ease his tension.
Gradually, Noah let his guard down and undid the ropes around me.
Meanwhile, his assistant called out again.
“Mr. Rockwell, something’s wrong with the plane. You need to check it
out.”
As Noah stepped away, I took the chance. When the plane was slowing, I rushed to the boarding door, opened it, and leaped out.
“Liora, don’t!”
As I jumped, I pulled the parachute cord.
Noah’s assistant had joined the Rockwell Group thanks to my referral years ago.
Since then, he’d been looking for a way to return the favor.
Earlier, when he warned Noah about the plane behind us, he was actually signaling to me. There was a parachute in the seat’s storage compartment.
Right after Noah freed me, the assistant triggered the door release from the cockpit, giving me the opening to escape.
“Liora, hold on!”
I didn’t expect Noah to grab my hand.
“Noah, let go of me!”
“If you jump, you’ll die. Would you rather die than come back with me?”
He clung to me tightly.
“Noah, I’d rather face death than return with you!”
Chapter 9
I would never forget the minor actress he had messed around with–she ended up hospitalized with severe bleeding.
That scandal dominated headlines for days.
When I filed for divorce, Noah said I was disobedient.
But he never truly cared about me.
Those three months he locked me away felt like endless torment..
I was sure he planned to keep me hidden again once we reached Lost Angeles.
I bit his hand. He winced in pain but wouldn’t release me.
I forced his fingers apart, one by one.
“Noah, goodbye!”
“Liora, don’t!”
I jumped down, his desperate voice echoing behind me.
Soon, I landed in an open field. My judgment was right.
Before I jumped, I carefully checked the ground below to ensure there was no risk to my life from that height.
Aside from a few scratches on my arms from the branches, I was unharmed.
Kingsley’s plane followed close behind.
When we returned to Miami, we had another wedding.
The sad part was that after Noah saw me jump, he thought I had died. In a
daze, he jumped as well and ended up falling into the sea.
Chapter 9
It was the same sea where he had played a prank on me on April Fools‘
Day.
It seemed everything had its destiny.
